KBI has well-established animal breeding and contract research facilities that were designed and constructed according to AAALAC and other international standards. It has a current housing capacity of approximately 8,000 rhesus and cynomolgus macaques (76 outdoor sheltered group housing and 34 indoor animal housing). The in-house facilities include an SPF barrier animal unit; quarantine building; and several support facilities such as animal hospital, nursery, surgical suites, necropsy suites, clinical and histopathology laboratories, and cage sanitizing areas. Our animal cages conform to the US Guide and European standards.
Through the successful application of transgenic technology, we have built various models on cynomolgus macaques.
